Katy Trail Community Health is seeking an EHR Clinical Systems Trainer. This trainer is a key member of the organization who focuses on training employees to utilize their skills at the top of their licensure and/or degree. This position will be responsible for all aspects of new-hire training related to electronic documentation and work with all departments to identify continuing education needs. Management of on-going requirements of the EHR application is critical, as is ensuring effective end-user support. This position will be responsible for master clinical applications (such as nursing documentation, physician documentation, electronic order entry, claims processing, and patient check in) and optimizing the applications for specific workflows. The EHR Clinical Systems Trainer will also be a key member of the Training Program and work directly with other training staff, EHR Program Manager, Nurse Educator, Lead Dental Assistant, and PH/QI Director. The EHR Clinical Systems Trainer position requires the ability to adapt to change as needed. The EHR Clinical Systems Trainer must possess and demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of and skill in areas of healthcare applications, technology and/or evidence by experience in providing classroom and/or on-site training in health information systems.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Assess the training needs of end users and design effective training materials and techniques
Provides classroom, one-on-one and traveling support for providers and clinical staff
Continuously evaluates the effectiveness of education programs and makes improvements and revisions, as needed.
Provides on-site technical support and troubleshooting for provider and non-provider staff at all KatyTrail facilities.
Active member of the training team and focuses on project/grant implementation across the practice.
Maintain an active knowledge base of the entire EHR, including clinical and administrative functions for medical, behavioral health and dental applications.
Gain an in-depth understanding of clinical and operational workflows in order to develop and implement workflow documentation for training EHR applications
An active member of the IT Optimization Committee and leads enhancements and PDSAs routinely.
Use written and oral presentation and communication skills in order to effectively communicate with providers and clinical staff
Support healthcare workers by providing technical support, troubleshooting and identifying opportunities for clinical information system improvements
Routinely review EHR documentation and recommends performance improvement plans based upon findings.
Completes monthly nursing, provider, audits in order to identify areas of improvements and retrains or provides recommendations for improvement to associated supervisor(s).
Builds rapport and promotes team work by maintaining a professional and positive attitude in the learning environment at all times, working to maintain open and professional lines of communication with all end users.
Oversite with new hires classroom training, 30-day, 60-day and 90-day follow-ups, at a minimum.
Works collaboratively with the additional training team members on a routine basis and can cover for this team member at any time.
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Possess high school diploma or equivalent.
Possess licensed practical nurse license
At least 3 years of direct experience with an Electronic Health Record platform
Previous training experience preferred, healthcare experience a plus
Possess basic keyboard skills and computer knowledge
Must demonstrate accuracy, proficiency and efficiency from approved training program
Possess cognitive skills necessary to understand medical terminology
Maintain professional appearance and positive attitude at all times
Must maintain patient and employee confidentiality at all times
Ability and means to travel on a flexible schedule as needed, proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used is required
Must maintain excellent attendance
